Bang Bang, Brady Manek has signed with the Perth Wildcats.

The Perth Wildcats have signed NCAA star Brady Manek for the NBL23 season. The six foot nine forward will join Perth after five successful seasons playing college basketball in the United States.

After playing four seasons with the Oklahoma Sooners, Manek moved to North Carolina and helped them make it to the National Championship game.

In 2021/22, he averaged 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.7 blocks per game for the Tar Heels, while shooting a career high 49 per cent from the field and 40.3 per cent from three.

When asked about Manek’s potential signing on SEN WA, GM of Basketball Danny Mills said “we are in discussions with a number of players. Brady is a talented player, definitely someone we saw at Summer League in Vegas and we definitely have interest in.”

Manek went undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft but did play Summer League for the Charlotte Hornets. He averaged 7 points, 4 rebounds in 14 minutes per game in the tournament.

He joins the Perth Wildcats roster who already have Mitch Norton, Kyle Zunic, Bryce Cotton, Corey Webster, Luke Travers, Todd Blanchfield, Corey Shervill, Jesse Wagstaff, TaShawn Thomas, Majok Majok and Oliver Hayes-Brown (DP) under contract.

Perth’s season starts on October 2nd against the Brisbane Bullets at RAC Arena.
