Walker, Queensland Ranger: Bullets complete roster with Devondrick Walker

The Brisbane Bullets have completed their NBL 2022/23 season roster with the acquisition of NBL1 West MVP Devondrick Walker on a one-year deal.

Walker, who has played in the G-League, Italy, France, New Zealand and Latvia won the G-League Most Improved Player award in 2017.

The American sharpshooter has played in the NBL prior. Signing with the Perth Wildcats for the 2017/18 season before sustaining a season-ending injury and has played with the South-East Melbourne Phoenix in the 2019/20 season.

He averaged 27 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 steals a game in his NBL1 West MVP season while playing for the Rockingham Flames. This also saw him named to the conference’s All-Star Five team.

The 196cm wing won the NBL1 West Championship with the Flames, winning the Final MVP with a 26 points and 4 steals performance against Geraldton at the Bendat Basketball Centre.

Walker has been recently training with the Perth Wildcats prior to him signing in Brisbane.

Bullets GM of Basketball Sam Mackinnon said that his experienced in Australia led them to signing him.

“Devondrick’s past NBL experience is a key reason for us adding him to our roster. He understands the league and his shooting will help space the floor for us to be more effective,” Mackinnon said.

Walker is looking forward to getting to Brisbane for the upcoming season.

“I’m definitely excited for the opportunity. Looking forward to getting a fresh start with a hungry group of guys,” he said.

“Outside of my athletic ability, that led me to this moment. Bullets fans can expect a positive mindset, winning mentality, and constant desire to get better.”

He joins Aron Baynes, Tyler Johnson, Nathan Sobey, Jason Cadee, Tyrell Harrison, tanner Krebs, DJ Mitchell, Harry Froling, Kody Stattmann, Gorjok Gak and Lual Diing (DP) on the Bullets roster.

Brisbane start their season with an away trip to face the Wildcats on October 2nd.
